Garden Directors, Presidents, and CEOs are invited to this dinner and reception set against a spectacular local backdrop.

There’s fabulous, and then there’s fabulous! And legendary collector and philanthropist Marjorie Merriweather Post created a place that defines the word. Join your colleagues for an evening of gardens, art, and inspiration at Hillwood Estate, Museum & Gardens. At Marjorie’s former estate in northwest Washington, located just a few miles up the street from the Omni Shoreham, you will experience the beauty of a once-private home filled with extraordinary art and surrounded by twenty-five acres of gardens and woodlands, all blooming with late spring color.

Your evening at Hillwood is one inspired by Marjorie’s gracious affairs, beginning with cocktails and time to explore the gardens. Capturing the vision Post conceived when rebuilding the northwest Washington estate in the 1950s, knowing she would leave it to educate and inspire future generations, thirteen acres of formal gardens extend from the house’s terraces and porches in a progression of “outdoor rooms,” each meant to complement the splendid interior spaces, and connected through subtle transitional features. Highlights include a French parterre, rose garden, a Japanese-style garden, the Lunar Lawn, putting green, and a greenhouse full of orchids. To complete your experience, stroll the mansion, where knowledgeable docents will share the history of the collection and breathtaking interiors, and visit the special exhibition Mid-century Master: The Photography of Alfred Eisenstaedt, highlighting significant figures of the twentieth century, including Marjorie Merriweather Post, Marilyn Monroe, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, and more, as captured by the famous LIFE Magazine photographer.

Finally, enjoy enlightening conversation with your fellow garden leaders over an elegant dinner served under the tented courtyard, overlooking Post’s abundant cutting gardens, brimming with the beautiful flowers of summer!
