The relationship between plant societies and public gardens comes in many forms. Some create powerful partnerships which bolster garden events, classes, and collections, while other relationships can become challenging and unproductive. Many plant societies are losing membership and with that valuable plant knowledge, resources, and community. Our panel will share successes, discuss challenges, share opinions of responsibility public gardens have in maintaining relationships with plant societies, share tools and techniques in forging strong effective relationships, and offer new ideas or opportunities for other public gardens. Participants will be able to reassess their current relationships with plant societies and apply new ideas and techniques to improve their partnerships.
